January Wine of the month
Ruviano Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, Monte Schiavo
This is a clean, fresh and delicate style of organic Verdicchio. Hailing from the Marche in Central Italy. Legend has it that this wine was consumed by the army of the King of the Visigoths, to maintain their strength, as they marched on Rome. The fruit for this wine is sourced from Monte Schiavo's own vineyards and vinification takes place in stainless steel resulting in a crisp, light-bodied wine, with notes of orchard fruits, fresh lemon and white flowers.

December wine of the month
Tavo Pinot Grigio, Ilauri
This is not your average Pinot Grigio from the Veneto. It is a varietally true example of this often misunderstood grape. Zesty citrus energy and bright acidity with a smooth mouthfeel and glossy quality on the mid-palate, along with aromas and flavours that nod towards honeysuckle and white peach.

November Wine of the month
The Francophile Syrah 2022, The Liberator
The Francophile Syrah is grown and produced at De Morgenzon in Stellenbosch. De Morgenzon translates from Africaans as ‘The Morning Sun’. This was the name granted to the farm by Governor Willem Adriaan van der Stel in 1699 because the altitude and the orientation means that this estate is the first property in Stellenboschkloof to benefit from the sun’s early morning rays. This wine possesses the ripe fruit and sunny disposition of its South African origin, but with a nod towards the elegance of its old world relations. There is plenty of rich dark fruit - think brambles and ripe black cherry - and fruit sits alongside warming baking spices and savoury, smoky notes. All this is supported by smooth tannins and fresh acidity.

October Wine of the month
Daydreamer Moscato, Richard Hamilton
Typically found in Italy, this Moscato is
produced by Richard Hamilton in the McClaren Vale in Australia. This wine has characteristic notes of orange blossom and peach. The presence of a very gentle spritz and fresh acidity work to balance
the natural sweetness, along with the lower level of alcohol (6.5%).
