Pedro Parra, `Hub` Itata Valley Cinsault
Well renowned Chilean soil expert and winemaker, Pedro Parra knew that his native Itata Valley would be a unique and exciting place to produce high quality wine. The grapes are sourced from a single vineyard site from old Cinsault bush vines planted on granitic soil, that benefit from a high iron content. Along with its North west facing exposition and 300 metres altitude, the wine retains freshness and minerality. With 40% whole bunch vinification the wine has an attractive floral and herbal character. Natural yeast fermentation and minimal intervention, as well as ageing exclusively in concrete tanks gives the wine a mineral quality. We would recommend to decant at least half an hour prior to drinking. Expect aromas of wild strawberries, brambles and kirsch notes combined with savoury tannins and a refreshing and juicy core.
