Harrow & Hope Reserve NV

This exciting relative new addition to the UK sparkling industry is run by Charlie and his wife. It is a 6.5 hectare single vineyard property situated in Marlow, Buckinghamshire on ancient Thames Terroir soil. The gravel terrace has differing layers of  gravel, clay and flint, with a high content of chalk at the lower part of the slope, home to the Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier plantings. No 6 cuveé is based on the 2017 vintage. Their earliest harvest, the Chardonnay proved to be the shining star this year, giving the wine a softness and elegance. The blend is made up of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier and the wine is aged for at least 36 months on its lees which brings out the brioche and toasty flavours. The reserve wine (20%) is aged in oak barrels which gives an additional texture and spice. Expect orchard fruits, florals and biscuit and subtle spice notes. The green apple acidity, so typical of UK sparkling, is balanced effectively with the sugar dosage. This is a really exciting producer for the future of the UK wine industry. Vegan Friendly.
